Field Day is Coming on June 1st!!!!

Time to Bowl!!!
We will be starting our bowling unit this week. Students will be learning about hand position, approach, follow through, and scoring while we utilize our traveling bowling equipment. Pictures of our Gators bowling prowess will be coming at the end of our unit.

Dance Week!
This week our gators will be shaking it to various songs on Just Dance 2 on our Wii. They will be competing for high scores as a class to see which class has the best moves at Greenbrier. Pictures will be coming soon.

New Pacer Record!
Congratulations to Nathan Cole on breaking the Greenbrier Pacer record with a score of 93! Also, I would like to say congrats to all of our students who gave their best efforts during fitness testing. We had a lot of improved scores. Nice work!

We Did It!!!!
Thanks to the effort of our Greenbrier students, we were able to reach our fundraising goal of $3000 for Jump Rope for Heart! Our students raised $3,582 dollars! Congratulations, and thanks to everyone who participated in this wonderful event. Pictures will be coming soon.

Just Move It!
To promote healthy living choices for children, ABC 25 has started a new initiative called The Just Move It Challenge! This event will also raise money for grants and PTA scholarships that ABC 25 has funded in the past.
There are two events available: 1. Family 5K run/walk with awards for the top finishers
2. Kids 1 mile run/walk with awards to the top finishers in each age group
Although the focus is on School District 25 families, surrounding communities are invited.
The location will be at South Middle School on April 21, 2012.
The cost for adults is $20 and the cost for children 1 and under is $10
Registration is forthcoming.

A Little Extra Floor Hockey...
Our Chicago Wolves jerseys are in, so for the next couple weeks our students will be playing floor hockey games in their new jerseys. So far the students seem very excited. Pictures will be coming soon. K-2 students are doing parachute games this week which is always a fan favorite. Go Gators!
