Floor Hockey!
For the next few weeks our Greenbrier Gators will be doing a unit on floor hockey, which is usually a fan favorite. Students will work on skills such as stick handling, passing and shooting. Floor hockey is also a great unit to teach about safety so we will definitely be touching on the aspects of safe and respectful play. Stay tuned for pictures.

Fitness Week
This week we are doing various fitness stations including the climbing wall, Wii games, jump rope, and other exercise stations. We are trying to counteract all those added calories that we consume over the holidays. Our students are really excited about being able to be active while still playing video games with Greenbrier's Nintendo Wii system. We have some pretty good dancers according to their scores on Just Dance Kids.

What's up next?
Next week we will be fitness testing to see how much progress we have made over the last month. Students will take part in tests that measure cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and coordination. Our results will be used for students to be able to set goals for the next time fitness testing comes around.

What We Are Doing in Class.....
For the last couple of weeks we have been taking part in our soccer unit. Intermediate students have been practicing skills and playing a number of lead up games to get ready to play full team games. Primary age students have been practicing a number of movement concepts through soccer-like activities. Scooter soccer was a big hit.
